Don is a LifeMember in the National Rifle Association, The American Legion, The North American Hunting Club, and is very active in local politics in the Blaine area of Minnesota.  (Don is a sitting Park Board Commissioner for the city of Blaine)

Don spent nearly 8 years in the US Army in a variety of different jobs.  He started out in the prestigious 3 US Infantry (The Old Guard) as a member of the Presidential Ceremonial Unit and was assigned to Company E (Echo Company, Honor Guard).  Don performed burial detail at Arlington National Cemetery, worked at The White House for various diplomatic events and has the distinction of being assigned to the Tomb of the Unknowns at Arlington National Cemetery (Third Relief).

After leaving The Old Guard, Don accepted a slot at the Army's Defense Language Institute/Foreign Language Training Center in Monterey, California where he learned Russian.  Don then attended the US Army Intelligence Center and School at Fort Huachuca, Arizona where he was certified as a US Army Interrogation Specialist.

Don was then assigned to the 103rd Military Intelligence Battalion (CEWI) of the 3rd Infantry Division in Wurzberg, Germany.  Don was assigned to the Border Residence Office (BRO) system in Coberg, Germany as a liaison for the Army working on the former East German border.

Don is married to Marnie Ochs-Raleigh, and they have 3 wonderful children.  Don is currently the President of Evolve Systems, a Minnesota based company that specializes in custom Web sites for the Internet and Merchant Processing Systems (the ability for businesses to accept Credit Cards).
